A Crying Baby
It is normal for a baby to cry, but it is the job of a parent to figure out why their baby is crying. All babies cry and newborns might typically cry anywhere from 1-4 hours a day. When babies cry they might be using their unique language of crying to say, "I am hungry" or "I want to suck on something" or " I want to be held" or "I'm tired" or "I'm wet" or "I want to move" or "I'm hot or cold" or "I'm overwhelmed" or "I want to be swaddled." There can be any number of reasons a baby cries. After investigating, and responding to the baby's needs, if they are still crying you can let them cry for 10-15 minutes. However, it is a priority to relieve them of what is bothering them, and to make sure you have done everything you can to meet their needs, so that both of you can relax and sleep.
